Chocolate Chip Bread

Prep time: 20 min  Bake time: 65-75 min

There’s a lot going on in the world right now, but a few things are never going to change and the main one is our love of food. Today we’re going to share an amazingly quick and easy sweet bread that will make you feel like a baking master! We like the food to speak for itself, so let’s get right into it:

Ingredients

3 large eggs (room temp is best but not necessary)

1 cup sugar

2 cups sour cream

3 cups self-rising flour

2 cups chocolate chips (or measure with your heart, like you should)

Note: If you don’t have access to self-rising flour right now, adding 4 ½ teaspoons of baking powder and 1 ½ teaspoons of salt to the same amount of all-purpose flour will work as well! Just make sure you incorporate those dry ingredients VERY well first.

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 F.

  2. Beat the eggs, sour cream, and sugar together until well blended.

  3. Gradually stir in the flour. It will be more of a batter than a dough!

  4. Fold in chocolate chips.

  1. Transfer to a greased 9x5 loaf pan. I always put a strip of parchment paper down into the pan so that it pops out easily after baking, so if you have some available, add that after greasing. I promise it’s life changing!

  1. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean, 65-75 minutes. (Mine took exactly 70, but that could change based on your type of oven or where you live).

  2. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

This bread turns out to be fairly dense, and tastes amazing paired with butter & cinnamon sugar, icecream, or as french toast. If you decide to try this out, please tag us in a photo of your creations, we’d love to see them!

Happy Baking!
